Web3 here I come. 👾 As you probably already know, I’ve always had a love for futurism, cyberspace, and anything new - so naturally I want to find out everything I can about creating and collaborating in a web3 world. We’re experiencing a renaissance for digital art that will reshape the way creatives work, so I want to learn this new digital language and apply it to what I do and inspire other creators to take the leap.
First step: creating my avatar. This was my first time using the 3D Scanning machine on myself! I’m very excited to be working with Folio, a curated NFT community for diverse LGBTQ+ artists, to explore this new era of digital creativity. Huge thank you to Human Engine 3D for letting me experiment in your studio!
What is your digital identity? 🤖 Do you want to look exactly like you do in the real world? Do you want to present an idealized version of yourself? Maybe you want to create an entirely new persona? These are some of the questions I asked myself as I started developing my Web3 avatar. I’ve been working with @gigigvaliaart an amazing digital artist from Tbilisi, Georgia.
I was so inspired by his art that I wanted to create a digital sculpture of myself to discover what version of my self-image I wanted to portray in a Web3 world. I realized I wanted to show my true self, expanded by the possibilities presented by my interests and creativity. Fashion, art, nature, technology, classic, avant-garde - I want all of those to be reflected in my avatar.
The entire process has been an eye opening experience. In this video you can see the complex rendering process that turned my 3D body scan into my possible future avatar.

During COVID, Gigi had free time learning Blender 3D doing daily renders. The main inspiration for this 3D sculpture is bringing new ideas to life from old creations, thus creating something new and beautiful.

I was so inspired to create a digital sculpture of myself to start discovering what version of my self-image I wanted to portray in the digital world. The flowers also representing creative ideas blooming and when I am open to receiving downloads in the "flow state".
I carve out time in my schedule everyday to gather inspiration and be open to receive ideas, whether it is playing piano or caring for my flowers and plants. I wait for divine inspiration and when a creative idea comes to me it feels like it comes through me like a vessel.
I don’t ever feel like I’m photographing or creative directing, rather I am channeled to have the ideas come through me to make them a reality. I wanted the art piece to represent my creative process.
I’ve been involved in the NFT space for over a year now. I’ve worked on some smaller projects and collaborations that really taught me about the space. This year I’m ready to go all in, because I think blockchain technology will become more and more integral to the way creatives work.
I have a great team behind me, including the team from Folio, a curated artist marketplace and LGBTQ+ community, to help me release all my upcoming NFT projects. In the long term I plan to release most, if not all, of my projects as NFTs.
It breathes new life into the work that we do by allowing true ownership and making what we do as artists collectible.

NFTs and cryptocurrency are about decentralization, and I see the same future for fashion and art. NFTs give creatives a new path to create, publish, and own their work without needing to go through traditional gatekeepers. You can make your art just sitting at home, mint it and if it resonates, the value of it could change your life.
We will be seeing a whole new generation of groundbreaking artists that will redefine this digital era. The blockchain technology and NFTs benefit artists in new long-term aways, allowing everyone to continue creating and sharing art with more freedom and protection.

I’ve always been a futurist, if you look at any of my work you can see those cyberpunk and anime influences in everything I do. What also excites me about this new digital world of is a renewed sense of community and collaboration. Creative digital communities can be made up of anyone anywhere, so there’s a real opportunity to be truly diverse and inclusive. So this digital future, from NFTs to the metaverse — is all really exciting to me!
Step 1. Setup Your Wallet
The two most popular wallets are MetaMask or Coinbase wallet. MetaMask is a browser extension wallet and app that allows you to easily access and interact with decentralized applications (aka dApps) and participate in purchasing the NFT.
It's really important to create a secure, unique password for your wallet. Please make sure to store this password securely, offline and in a secure location. Therefore, much like you wouldn't share passwords, never share your recovery seed phrase with anyone. It's good practice to store it offline in multiple, separate, secure locations. There are also hardware solutions available which offer further protection, such as Ledger.
Step 2: Buy ETH
Whilst you can purchase cryptocurrencies through Metamask, many people choose to use an exchange for ease of transaction (especially for larger amounts). Please do your own research to understand which exchanges are regulated and operate within your market.
Once you've found an exchange right for you, go through the necessary steps to be registered and verified, to buy ETH.
Please allow for 'gas fees' (the cost of performing the transaction of the ethereum blockchain) when making your purchase of ETH. This fee will be added on top of the purchase price of the NFT, as well as when transferring ETH to MetaMask. The prices change according to how busy the ethereum blockchain is at any given moment.
Step 3: Transfer ETH to Wallet
Having set up wallet and successfully purchased ETH on your exchange, you need to transfer your ETH to your walletso you can complete the purchase of your NFT. When opening your newly acquired wallet, you can find your Ethereum address (a long string of letters and numbers, starting with 0x) near the top. This is your Ethereum wallet address. You'll need this address if you wish to be able to receive ETH from your exchange (or any other party).
